Trump and Free Speech
The DOJ is now forcing Tech Companies to remove ICE apps that allow people to mark where they've seen ICE. Similar apps still exists to track police. Even worse, Trump claims the right to prevent all journalism not approved by the Pentagon. "The new policy says reporters could have their press passes revoked if they publish information that has not been authorized for release by the Pentagon, even if the information is unclassified." This is the end of the independent press in this country that was already nearly dead from merger after merger, putting all major news outlets under Murdoch or Larry Ellison.

It's not illegal to alert people about police checkpoints, it's protected speech.
I think an ICE raid would fall under such a thing.

Can't be any worse than we've had it until now :)
Regarding tech companies, the first thing I found was that Meta claims that the Facebook group tracking I.C.E. was violating their anti-doxing policies[www.cnbc.com], which makes sense. That's not exactly the fault of the white house. Not saying the white house didn't levy pressure, but it seems like something Meta would've done regardless.

Regarding press passes for the Pentagon, members of the government have the freedom not to talk to the press, and oftentimes are required not to do so if the information is classified. Although the first amendment is phrased in absolutist language, the courts have long ruled that national security is an overriding factor that meets the standards for strict scrutiny.

So nothing particularly unusual seems to be going on here.
good, those apps deserve to be banned and they have nothing to do with "free speech".

have a nice day

You should hear what Woodrow Wilson did.
There will be an end to forever wars....
*Iran
*Venezuelan drug cartels and Government.
*Hamas - potentially and sooner rather than later.
Last time I checked, perverting the course of justice, like telling an illegal how to flee from getting detained (or making it easier for groups like antifa to get in their way), is illegal. :steamfacepalm:

DOJ claims they are allowed, only when Republicans are in charge, to pressure Google, X, Apple to censor content and that it is actually the private companies doing it, despite the public DOJ pressure.

Journalism is talking about what you witness, and that is protected speech.

Journalism isn't stalking 24/7.

the same radical right, anti abortion people wanted the right to post doctors addresses with gun sight targets next to their name. The Supreme Court ruled they just couldn't have the targets next to their name... Once again, Republicans assaulting free speech that they claimed was protected just a few years ago.

"Doctors" addresses, if they're public information, isn't a crime and is a right we all have as per something called... the law. They also haven't been assassinated despite them objectively performing something you'd see out of a Saw movie, I advise you to look up videos of abortions for the ultimate sanity test. If it's something people have to stalk the person to find out, then that is a crime. But then you'd have to admit that stalking ICE is a crime. Stalking isn't public information unless someone leaks their movements every waking moment.
