The Big Bang....
Did The Big Bang create the Universe or 'ThisUniverse' depending your perspectives and leanings.

OR

Was There already something here and The Big Bang exploded within it?

The scientific answer is "We don't know"

If I was to speculate, I think it could be the beginning of Simulation Theory

I don't think there's a satisfying answer which doesn't break our understanding of reality. Either everything was always here, which doesn't conclude in a definite origin story, or things were just suddenly here, which doesn't conclude in understanding their origins

Because the concept of finite things in an infinite space is counterintuitive, I'm led to believe that there was indeed at one point 'nothing', and for whatever reason, 'something' came into existence. Given our current understanding of quantum physics and all of the shenanigan ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that goes on there, I think the most plausible scientific explanation would be simulation theory. That creates more unanswered questions though, as we're then left to speculate about a currently unknowable base-reality (The same kind of speculation inherent in wondering what came before The Big Bang)

The simple answer is that we don't know.

It could be that the universe is a brute fact, and the Big Bang doesn't have any cause in the sense we commonly think of.

It could be that a total vacuum, that is to say an empty spacetime, can still generate events through quirks of math.

It could be that there was a set of pre-Big Bang physics that we don't know of and may never have access to.

It could be an intelligent, deliberate process by what we would call "God". In short, deism. But while tempting, I don't that explanation is any likelier (or simpler) than the others.
Try to imagine a time when absolutely nothing existed. How did space come to be? Not to mention energy and matter. When all life on earth comes to an end, and it will long after I'm dead, this question will remain unanswered. I believe the answer is far beyond our level of comprehension.
You just have have faith that big bang created the universe
We have traced the forces and energies of the universe backwards in time, but only to a certain point.

We know that the universe came from the Big Bang, that's observable. What we don't know yet is whether the Big Bang has a cause, and if so, what it is.

There's no faith involved here.

Wasn't the dude who came up with the Big Bang Theory a Catholic priest? Or am I mixing something else up with this?

Anyway, I'm currenly more in-line with the quantum idea for the begining of the universe, but there's like 10+ version of all sorts of starts to the universe that scientists have come up with so maybe I'd be morein-line with another version if I knew of it better.

I do not believe the universe was caused by literal magic, or gods, etc. :P
