What the EU seems to want is for the USA to go to war with Russia, the EU will provide a handful of combat units, public relations units and hospital units. They will also expect the US to pay for most of the war and the reconstruction of the Ukraine. I do not think that President Trump will let that happen.

Zelensky has refused and continues to refuse any possibility of even beginning to talk peace unless Russia returns all territory they control, including Crimea.

The EU country refuse to discuss peace unless Russia returns all territory, including Crimea, Putin steps down from his role and is charged in front of the ICC.


Of course neither Zelensky nor the EU "leaders" are invited to the actual peace talks.
Instead they will have to face a fait accompli if Putin is smart enough to propose (or accept) conditions that Trump will like.
And if Trump does reach an agreement, Ukraine and the EU will be free to prosecute the war however they see fit; only, they'll have to do so on their own dimes.

Last time this happened Trump emerged saying Putin is honest and US intelligence is evil. Same will happen this time. Behind closed doors, Putin will flatter Trump so he forgets how rude Putin treated him recently. He will come out offering big slices of Ukraine so he can say he was the only one that could find peace. And of course, that's not going to happen.
Not that it matters because maga will still find ways to blame Biden as is only possible in an alt-reality utopian cult. That's why he says stupid things like he will end it in 24 hours, because he knows it doesn't matter to them.

The EU certainly backed themselves into a corner, they want the Summit to be held on European soil but refuse President Putin to travel on European soil without threat of arrest.

Trump hasn't started a single war, but he's a warmonger.
