Help running an old game
Soo.... I recently reinstalled a game called Beach Life (Virtual Resort : Spring Break outside of the UK)

And it runs liek a bag of crap! i ahev tried all the usual fixes but NOTHING seems to work, i just want to enjoy this Edios classic but when it's running @ 8FPS i just can't!

Any help would be much appreciated :)

As you should guess it s far far above what is recommened by the game but it just doesn't like my system XD

your computer must be too good, get a worse one

Have you made sure steam is using the correct number of RAM on the game

Can i take it that this game is on disk maybe ?

Are you running windows 10 by any chance ?

Oh yeah i have 16GB of HyperX Beast, It is indeed running on a CD, and i am on Windows 10

Well its been reported old games on disk using DRM arent functioning on windows 10 im afraid.

you could try compatability mode for windows XP?

The game does work, just lags heavily

I have mate, also Vista, 7 98, 2000 ect. but still a no go
You could also change which version of Direct X you machine is attempting to use to run the game.A fair number of my older games do not appreciate DX11 trying to run them, so I force them to run in 10 or 9, and get great results.

That does sound like a good idea, How do i go about forcing my machine to use an older DX? This game in question uses DX8.1b

Right click on the launcher shortcut, go to properties, select the shortcut tab, and add -dx and what ever version you would like to use.

An example.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT\WildStar\Wildstar.exe" -dx10
