I'd argue that one has responsibilities even without being in a relationship.
I mean, bills aren't gonna pay themselves..

In rare cases it works together, and in even more rare cases it works even better than alone. But the initial feeling might be a bit tricky, if it´s about distinguishing if it´s the real thing or not. You only find that out later. Let´s say 6 months+, and the sad part is usually to end it, if it´s not the real thing, while the idea might have been nice.

But the big mistake people make is usually to find their happiness in other people. If You´re happy for Yourself - everything gets easier. And then You don´t get a girlfriend, because You think You´re missing something, but because You think it would just be a good time, to share Your happiness - not the freedom. But it´s perhaps a good idea to have a look that the girlfriend doesn´t give up her freedom as well, just to make You happy, only that she has a boyfriend, because she doesn´t like to be alone. Probably because You want the best for her as well - which could also mean to end it, if You´re not the best match for her. And that is usually the difficult and responsible part.

Imho it doesn´t help if either of the people is not as happy with the relationship as it could be, and that´s usually more difficult to achieve if You value freedom high. Not only Yours, but also that of Your partner. And chances are that the woman will nonetheless do something only for You - even if You tell her she shouldn´t do anything if she doesn´t want it. And then comes the thing You wanted to avoid, which restricts You in Your freedom: "I´ve done this and that only for You - now i want that You do this for me."

Do you mean obligation to anyone or actual responsibility? We all have things in our lives we must look after even if it is our own health. Not having obligations to anyone other than yourself though that sounds legit.

Not the life I would wish on anyone.

People think responsabilities are a bad thing, but at some point you need them.
