Metal gear solid 5
On my radar is currently nothing. These days we have a lack of good games
I put these two games into a special category that I like to call, "This should be one of the most popular indie titles out there that everybody talks about, yet for reasons that I cannot seem to figure out, few people have even heard of it."
And I mean that 100%. Those two games have an exceptionally high level of quality - one that matches or even exceeds many other game - that shows just how passionate the developers of them are about their projects. They seem to go hard into every aspect of the game's design, and don't skimp out on anything. If you even just simply open the Options menu and check all of the settings that're available, I've seen more choices there than even in some high quality AAA titles.
But even more importantly, those two games gives you your money's worth and then some. You can get over the 100-hour mark for a single playthrough of each, if you're looking to 100% the game. In my time with CrossCode I got to around 75-80%, having skipped a lot of the side-quests, and I've got 121 hours clocked in. I've not finished Troubleshooter, but I'm currently in Chapter 2, of what looks to be 10 Chapters for the story, and I have only 4 of the 12 total playable characters that you can unlock. But already with that, I am almost 40 hours into the game. There are whole entire systems that haven't even been introduced yet, like the pet system that I've heard some people mention that comes with a certain character.
If you want the epitome of "underrated / hidden gem", play CrossCode and Troubleshooter.
Surprised to see so little reviews or overall interest, most videos I've seen about it had truckload of views, one being close to 9 million.
Game's kinda broken as all hell and severely lacks polish, but the visuals and soundtrack carry it enough where I can say "yeah give it a shot".

This was my GOTY in 2022, it's like someone mixed Binding of Isaac, Enter The Gungeon, and Animal Crossing into a bowl and mixed the ♥♥♥♥ out of it.

This is one of the best souls likes and probably the closest we'll ever get to Bloodborne on PC.

As for upcoming games, STALKER 2 and Dead Island 2 look very promising.
Skyrim's iffy to me without mods but otherwise 10/10 taste.

Maybe a sims challenger. About time it’s horrible to see what ea has done to that franchise
I bought it when it came out, but it's super short in game play and can be finished in 12 hours without speed running it, it has mixed reviews
