You do know Respawn Entertainment is owned by Electronic Arts right?

Yes but Steam could have signed them before Electronic Arts.

They bought Respawn Entertainment two years ago.

Being free to play and battle royal, it will just pull people in like a blackhole. I think EA has hit the jackpot with this game to be honest.

Still doesn't change that fact that Electronic Arts is the publisher and parent company of Respawn Entertainment.

Meaning that Apex Legends and the Titan Fall series will never be on Steam.

Of course they did. You can't just use a game engine to make your own (for-profit) game without licensing it. Respawn/EA would have been sued if they tried to use the Source engine without paying for the permission to use it first.

We are aware that it won't be on Steam, that is why I am referring to past tense and asking if Steam had missed out on the jackpot by not signing them?

honestly , its an EA game on origin
i dont have a problem with that , and i dont really care if i have to use origin for it , origin is free , has paysafecard support , has a competent support ( had to use their chat support for a game that was crashing , worked again after 10 minutes

i dont mind using origin to be honest

Depend on how much cash was added you can buy out a license. Many companies done this with the unreal engine. Example firaxis did this for xcom:eu, them don't have to give any money to epic games to use the engine. If EA is paying royalty doesn't it mean that technically the game is owned by valve even if another company selling the game on another platform, in the end origin isn't much different from steam.

not really , if activision decides to keep cod on battle.net , people can atleast stop crying how steam is filled with trash , and for other games , steam has 30k games , its unlikely for us to run out of stuff to play

i was the same but i have to admit , apex is a solid game, if it now was just like cod , where you start with a gun you select and have a normal map size , it would be amazing

Let's hope Apex does fine. Maybe they're the "savior".
