It was in production for 15 years, 3 people, including the director, died before it released.
Avoid any trailers- typical trailers that reek of publisher-selected bits that do not reflect the movie's messages. The full movie is on YouTube, so I'd recommend just watching the first few minutes and determining if you'd watch it.
From what I read, the director, Andrew Getty, inherited a load of money and spent on both meth, and this movie. It honestly shows.
I went in blind, expecting a jump-scare riddled horror movie, but came out with a movie that has a vision, making me think deeper about the value of human perception.

The Scarface movie is REEALLLYYYY long though but you'll enjoy like the entire thing. It has great character development in it and good characters too and a nice story (though maybe don't watch it with the family since like nudity).
Shaun of the Dead is a really funny comedy centred around the zombie apocalypse and like two guys and their friends trying to stay alive with like zero knowledge on how to do so. It also has good music in it. I own both movies on dvd which shows just how much I love them so yeah, I recommend those.
Against popular opinion...Batman Begins is my favourite from entire saga. Its not just a movie, its a godda**n motivational masterpiece. There are some real powerful scenes and quotes in that movie that can help one in their worst times.
