If you meet the minimum system requirements for a game, can you still run it?
In general, can I play a game with the minimum system requirements met and still have a enjoyable experience?

Depends on the game.

let's say something like red dead redemption 2 or the outer worlds or dark souls 3

-Rockstar games are very optimised
-Ds3, yeah, but like 30-50fps maybe
-Idk much about outer worlds

Now how about in general, would it be smooth gameplay or bumpy

Yes.

I might be wrong but I think the minimum stats are like, usually what devs have run their games on or like what they assume that their game would be able to run on.

My computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements for a lot of games I own (Like Metal Gear Solid V) but I can play those very easily. Worst case scenario is that you'll just need to play the game on the lowest settings, but at least you'll be playing the game and can still have fun in it! :ShugoGasp:

If a game has a Demo that you can download, I REALLLLYYYYYYY recommend downloading that instead of buying a game and then maybe having to get a refund if it doesn't work for your computer. I thought I'd be able to play Zone of the Enders 2 easily but I ran the demo and it was very slow on my computer. So yeah, try out a demo if a game has one and you're not too sure about it.

Basically, yeah.

Some exceptions do happen. I'm looking at you FFXV...

My Time at Portia is a slog in minimum specs. Even at the *almost* recommended I had on my last PC it still ran poorly. Probably from the 1600mhz 12gb ram paired with the AMD A-10 7800 cpu I had.

I tried playing a game called Salt a while back with a friend who has a crap laptop but met the minimum specs. Needless to say, he didn't have a good time.
Ohhh ARK was much worse when I was running it on a laptop.
It's depend , some games will performs great even if you barely meet the minimum requirments while some other game won't really be playable or much harder to play.

Before I updated my GPU I was using a Gigabyte R9 270X which was only 2gb from memory.

Majority of games I played ran ok on all low settings. I could even run GTA 5 on low with it.

I have since upgraded to a saphhire rx 570 8gb because 270x died on me.

The only thing I believe now that are becomming outdated on my system is my cpu ram and hard drives lol.

My CPU is 10 years old and my primary HDD is also 10 years old, my ram is probably 5-6-ish years old but i have 12gb so it's still an "Ok" amount but sadly because I still use DDR3 when I need more I have a very small choice to choose from because ddr3 is on the way out.

Yes I am saving up for a new pc don't panic. I'm hoping to have a new one in 6-12 months.

hol up, sorry for ranting but yeah if you meet minimum specs you should do ok in a majority of games but expect to be running all low, also if you have duel monitors you may need to disable them for some games.
Most Unity games run like molasses but I've already stated that for MTaP.
Yes. You should be fine with medium settings at 60 fps.

it will most likely run at decent framerate but you may need to lower the settings to medium or low
