never use windows update for drivers
I have seen a couple Laptops come in where the WiFi chipset and driver had some issues and couldn't be resolved without replacing the wifi card. Where if you try to connect to 5Ghz the devices auto resets and gets stuck in a loop scenario. But 2.4Ghz worked just fine and stable
This can also happen when the network is configured for WPA3 and your connecting device does not support that
wpa3 is supposed to be backwards compatible wpa2 devices, but iv seen a few things that use wpa2 will not connect to wpa3
use another device or wired and log into the router, set it to wpa2, then try again
