Weird flash on GTX 780 before booting to Windows 8.1

When booting to windows 8 my display suddenly turns white for a few milliseconds, is this okay?
I had my old R9 290x drivers installed, probally the case?

Why you still on 8.1? Nothing is properly supported on there.

But yes perform a DDU wipe of all GPU Drivers in Safe Mode first and reboot. Then install the > https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/228705/

no bro, stop creating problem in your head, i still have my nvidia driver from the days i was troubleshooting my blackscreen crash
old GPU tend to have that anomaly

Noticed it only happened in windows 8.1, XP unaffected...

Well I don't know what you use that PC for but it sure can't be for anything worth-while. Not even Steam or Gaming.

It's probably okay?

Gonna be hard to find someone to troubleshoot it given your gpu is 12 years old and your OS is no longer supported.

Reinstalled windows, everything ok now...
Turns out it was my old radeon driver doing something that made this crap happen

ddu would fix that, just disconnect from the internet when rebooting after, so windows does not install generic drivers before you can install the correct one

still cant blame the old radeon if what you did is reinstall windows, but good for you
