Windows 11 is going to face scan all your photos...
...AND YOU CAN ONLY TURN IT OFF 3 TIMES A YEAR.

Windows 11 is going to face scan all the photos in your One Drive, and it saves to One Drive by default AND YOU CAN ONLY TURN IT OFF 3 TIMES A YEAR.

Glad that I switched to Linux.

Just don’t use one drive?

Or toggle it on again after you toggle it off?

Cloud services? ouch...
Nothing new
It's not like Google, Dropbox, Apple or anyone else is not doing it?
And how One Drive will operate if you use local account?

Microsoft has a habit of turning it back on even after you have turned it off.

I've unlinked OneDrive ages ago. It never turns back on.

And yes, OneDrive is one word.

Wild stuff.

Did you know most smart TV’s send the meta data of anything your watch on them, even from a USB connected device, back to the company who makes them, just so they can sell your data?

The customer has become the product. Very annoying.

Cheap TV's are the worst for it, it's why they are cheap some of them, subsidised by ads or data collection.

What's even more funny about Windows data collection complaints is that before data privacy laws like the GDPR were widely enforced MS was hoovering more data than ever off people, and through laws you at least have more control over data and what you share, that was 2018, long after the beloved Windows 10 release that did no wrong and the ever so innocent Win 7 before it.

Like I've said before the only difference now is they have to tell you what data they are collecting due to the changes in laws across the different countries, they were reaping more when it was the wild west, MS was collecting data before people even knew what data collection was.

MS say's it's scanning faces so you can sort and search for pics better, cool if it's any use to you I guess but the bigger thing for MS is training the Ai models with it all, that's what they want.
Scammy move, but expected from current companies.
Never used One Drive and always uninstalled that app ASAP from Windows.

That's not an issue. I used to fill out the ranking survey pamphlets. As long as they limit themselves to just tracking ratings, then I don't care.

The issue with Windows doing this is that they have access to your whole life. And you can stop the TV from tracking your ♥♥♥♥ just by disconnecting from the net. A PC needs to be connected to the net to do most of what you need it to.

Having a phone doesn't mean it tracks everything and by all parties.
