STORAGE FULL BUT NO FILES???
Hey. This has been happening to me for quite a long time. I have 256gb in total (I know it's too less).

I only have 114gbs left and no games installed at all. I recently deleted Tekken 7 and wanted to reinstall Tekken 8, but then the "not enough storage" message appeared. I opened the storage settings and realised that there are 123 gbs being occupied, but no options show what is the exact problem. I checked my C drive and saw that there are only 114 gbs left, and the rest is being occupied by files that I can't see at all. I clicked on the show hidden files option, selected all files in the C drive and checked the storage they occupy in total, and it's less than the 123 gbs. I already tried a bunch of solutions but nothing. YT tutorials don't work either, idk what to do at this point.

Any solutions to this?

Build bookshelf that allow to slot in hardrives within books that look cooler then is?
Could try a bottles and drop the ssd m.2 into a tight fit padded and pretend its herbs and spice?

Then buy a new drive and place it with a new OS.

Course supposedly there is a RUN command in windows CleanMgr
linux must learn SUDO commands

Course there is always just empty the recycle bin yet
linux what is read is it unlinks from use and stored in trash and then trash must be used with an ap to do other things

Do this in a safemode boot from MSconfig yet that might be even more inconvenient getting out of safemode, it is what it is

and since this about learning what is being read and not actually known will give one more

Del command in command prompt that has to be done in the folder of the file and slowly backed out possible with renaming the file/folders first if to be done with that whole detach from being used any longer.

I'd stick with starting to play on console and learning the way to hold buttons to default.

When doing everything try just cold boot, shutdown, unplug remove battery from cmos. Don't remember to dust your fans from time to time, this would be a good moment since powers off now that storage would be habitted by dust bunnies and so forth.
Replace with new battery plug back in power up reset time and reboot again to check bios and learn the ins and outs of basic maintenance without useage. Don't remember to dust your fans from time to time, this would be a good moment since powers off

Have fun inside and out of the box of components.

Which OS and version are you running?

Would be helpful if you install CPUz and run the validator and post the link to the results so people can see what hardware and configuration you have.

Most likely you can just run the disk clean up.

I was thinking of buying external storage again, but the problem is that the games take so long in installing there that I get tired of waiting. I tried the cleanmgr command but this just deletes 3mbs or so

I'll install that later, right now I'm very tired of finding solutions. I already tried the disk clean up many times but it didn't work. My operative system is Windows 11. I read somewhere that after every update the old versions are still stored, so maybe that's the problem?

Cleanmgr in run before pressing enter hold down cntrol and shift then press enter will find it.

got your downloads should be placed on an external drive your screenshots and videos and music could consolidate your whole library of manga/kittencalenders?

limiting pagefile is not a good solution
removing tiles and startups by hand sorting through each an ever folder for the time being is a necessity finally see your computer for the files it is. Possible duplicates of copy paste will come upon.

if its a new windows install, check disk management
windows makes about 4 partitions on the drive each taking up some space
you can delete the recovery partition and expand the main os partition to gain some space back
Got drop hibernate being used.

maybe stop certain things as in emoji or onboardkeyboard

have run CONTROL and take a look at PROGRAMS and uninstall something

that is advanced settings which is pagefile and other doodads that being off could benefit from might not be storage gains though.

Drastic version of uninstall something and go to apps in settings of start menu and start going through those have to follow up and open location to remove the rest. How windows reacts and re-installs not a clue

The fun and disastrous shell commands of removing all features including the store and calculator.

edit to add some reminders

Try and do keep those memories and add more let it blend.
If working a troubleshooting system say to learn battery life length and install management of multiples of operating systems

Perhaps go the route of tpm.msc AND bios KEK and Pk keys and so forth with
TROUBLESHOOTING through standard settings windows PLUS holding shift and clicking or running a restart for the bootup into.

perhaps it just time to finalize it being on internet and those programs dependent to it if going so tight knit

in summary running virus malware to individual folders in multiple bootups instead of staying in this remote mode that everyone is going through of auto correct as sent from one house to the next would make it a computer instead of an "internet"

What’s in your recycle bin? Does emptying that change anything?

Trojan virus could do this
i have this problem. i dont care. i used 3 tb and have 11tb free space. i reinstal later, i got plenty of time. in 95 i had a space filler virus on a 2gb fat16.
123 GB of used OS space sounds reasonable to me. Mine is around there and it's strictly programs/applications since EVERYTHING that I mess with goes to other drives.

That's pretty much why I gave up on 256 GB drives a while ago. Even 512 GB was too small for me so might just be what you're using. I'm not sure how many people occupy less space and if so how they're doing i?.
OS itself shouldn't take that much space, but it's not just OS, disk C contains all programs installed as well. My firefox eats multiple Gbs of space with just history and that's without counting other files.

But, yeah, 256 Gb is pretty bad for gaming nowadays, not only OS requires free space and games require it too. You should aim for 1 Tb or even more, depending on how many games you want to be installed at the same time.
You can use a software like Treesize to figure out what exactly is taking up your disk space, and then hopefully figure out what to do from there.
