It's my Birthday, Help me waste my money on a new monitor *update
I purchased the 4k 240hz oled and loving it. When I have the room cleaned up Ill post pictures.

Mid life crisis November 6. I am retiring my LG C3 back to a TV. After 7000 hours as a 4k 120hz 42 inch oled monitor, It has no burn in, but I am moving it to the entertainment area.

So I am currently stuck with a 60hz 4k cheapy and a 180hz 24 inch 1440p ips.

I am 100% set on 27 inch. I just cant decide if I should go 4k or 1440p.

I play a large variety of games, I dont pvp as much as when I was younger.

I am really considering this XG27UCDMG

1. I am in the US
2. Only using Best Buy since I have store credit there.
3. 27 inch is the size I want.

Current specs

RTX 5080
ultra 7 265k
64gb ddr5 ram
4tb nvme

Any sugguestions or would you also pick this one?

Please dont waste time with oled burn in scares. I used oled for 7000 hours without issue. I dont fear it.

Looks nice, I have a ROG OLED too 27" 240Hz but 1440P, I stuck to 1440P because I want the frames more, 9800X3D+5090
Just remember, the more uncommon your harware gets, the more incompatibility issues you're gonna face.
This one is worth a look using the latest 4th gen panel.

Monitors are pretty common, to be honest I can't remember a computer I've had that didn't need a screen, abacus is the closest.

I meant when you have 6 monitors, all with different refresh rates, uncommon aspect ratios, etc.

May I ask, how do you like 1440p opposed to 4k? I am not as sensitive to hz as some people, and I cant tell above 120hz. I can feel it, but my kdr sucks at 60 or 240hz. so I favor max graphics when possible.

I am only going to be using 2 monitors. My current 1440p 24 inch will go into portrait mode at 60hz for scrolling social media and monitoring system specs

4K at 27" does look a bit crisper but not massively so but 4K is still hard to run on demanding games if you want all the eye candy maxed out, even at 1440P demanding games can push the GPU hard if your going for higher refresh.
So depends on what games you play really and what FPS you want to target, 4K best image lower FPS, 1440P good image higher FPS.

Yeah my old IPS is doing the same right now, save static images on the OLED, pretty much just runs games.

Why at 60Hz if it's faster, mine is a 24" 1080P ROG 360Hz in portrait mode, running at 360Hz so the txt scrolls smoothest.

Because my 1440p monitor is a 180hz 24 inch. When I replace it with a 27 inch (either 1440p or 4k) it will no longer be the main monitor. There is no benefit in having it higher than 60 hz when all it will do is display Corsair OSD, and reddit, steam forums, social media. The main monitor will be at full speed

I am doing this setup again(that msi went bad and I returned it) so that is why I say one will remain at 60hz

It's also no detriment to run at full speed, at 60Hz it will look jerky as it wont fit one to one in a 180Hz container, if you do lower it set it to 90Hz, if you set a screen to 60Hz the screen is still 180Hz but holds a frame longer, 90 fits in to 180.
