(Gold) Source games crash on Win. 10 Alienware laptop
I understand that some engines have issues running on new systems, but I've never had an issue with Source (and Goldsource) games until I got my new laptop. I've previously used a Win. 10 computer for games, and any game ran on the Source engine was incredibly reliable. I have an Alienware m18 laptop, which originally had Win. 11 installed. I'll post specs if folks are curious, but I'm not sure where the issue lies exactly. I don't have an issue with any other engine ('sides what SCP:CB uses, but there was a fix for that).

It's also probably important to mention that there are a few versions of Source which crash less often (TF2 and L4D2). CS2 also can't hold more than 30 fps (doesn't actually crash, but have since uninstalled).

update bios and get the latest drivers from the laptop mfg site
Well it's a "prebuild"; to which anyone who buys one should go make a fresh OS installer media; boot from it, wipe the drive clean and clean install the OS + Drivers. The BIOS updates come in via Optional within Windows Updates section; yes please apply BIOS update first.
