Z790 motherboards prices at your countries?
I live in Sweden and been looking to get ASUS TUF or MSI Z790 motherboard but prices are way too high here. There is cheaper ones but they are from AsRock and Gigabyt which I’m not willing to buy, is not LGA1700 socket supposed to be considered a dead socket? Then why these retailers still charge around 250$ (converted approximately to dollars) ? What is the prices at your place?

Supply and demand, and when boards stop being made, supply just gets smaller.

You want one, you think you're the only one? The price might be a hint that you're not.

If demand doesn't drop off faster than supply, no reason to lower prices.

Yesterday a motherboard that I wanted was 40$ off but I felt it was still expensive and thought maybe later, but today they sold out the stock they had price drop on and now they sell it at 250$, it is ASUS TUF gaming Z790 wifi Plus, do you think is it worth 250$ ? Should I buy or wait?
Check newegg and the pc builder option they got you might be able to get a nice discount if you pair the right raptor lake with the right motherboard. I got my 265k system absurdly cheap like that.

What does a current platform MB in the same class cost?

Aside from the MB what cpu do you want?

Does the MB need to be on significant sale for the whole scheme to work?

Yeah, it's fairly inexpensive here. $110-$160 depending on brand. I'm waiting for Intel Arc B780 release to build an Intel PC because we are living in a timeline where Intel is the budget friendly option.

Let that sink in.
