there might be a better choice then ether msi or acer.
it's just generally MSI make better monitors.
And both the monitors that I've selected lies in the same price range/display size/refresh rate/response rate/resolution etc but the brand difference and also there is a delay in the delivery of msi probably because of it's high demand and rating hence I've decided to purchase the acer only because of the faster shipping however I can wait if anyone can confirm that msi monitors are better than acer if they had used both before.
Acer ek220q 54.61cm 100 hz
Msi pro mp223 100 hz
these are both VA monitors, you should really get an IPS
the MSI PRO MP225 is a good choice
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ncBFf7/msi-pro-mp225-215-1920-x-1080-100-hz-monitor-pro-mp225
but out of the two, the msi one has better color coverage and has adaptive sync support.
whats your budget?
do you really need the vga input?
MSI G242L E14 is <$100
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2HpD4D/msi-g242l-e14-238-1920-x-1080-144-hz-monitor-g242l-e14
still 4ms g2g, but 144hz, 24in, with freesync
or at $105 Asus VG249Q3R
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rrWmP6/asus-tuf-gaming-vg249q3r-238-1920-x-1080-180-hz-monitor-vg249q3r
180hz, 1ms g1g, and freesync
just enable freesync in gpu control panel, and vsync in games, it will lower the refresh to what the gpu can output
Ips display with more refresh rate with just 5$ extra hell I believe it's the cheapest 144 hz screen from Acer and the only reason I liked it because it costs around 75$ otherwise 144 hz screens usually starts from @115$
Is it worth it to buy 144 hz because my gpu rarely gives me more than 120 fps
a good monitor will last 15+ years
for desktop and 2d mode, it can do 144+fps
makes everything look smoother
with vrr, games can run as good as the cpu and gpu will let it
