no. switch it off=fast gaming without ray tracing
switch it on= (clear to understand)
a gpu can only be destructed, maybe hit it with a hammer really fast, by violence and hot temperature. thats mainly it!!

Raytracing doesn't damage your GPU, it just increases the workload on it.

A badly cooled GPU that is running constantly at or above it's max safe temperature could cause issues though later down the line, but this has nothing to do with raytracing in itself.
btw: every cpu/ gpu has a max temperature...means: the pc cannot be burned by itself. it just switches off.

thx for reading.
Kind of like asking is it ok to fuel in my car, yes it's made to do that.

my temps are 51C to 55c
No it will not damage the card, it`s one of the features the card was built for.
Lol, what nobody is telling you is that you took the bait and bought a rubbish and gpu. The joke is on you and at your expense. And yes a 9070 is very bad at ray tracing. Lol, use fsr ultra performance and upscale from 320x240.

I'm genuinely sorry. It's no wonder amd gpu market share is in single digits.

OP said 1080p, not 4k.

Looking at the Tom's Hardware GPU rankings, the 9070 (at 1080p Ultra) is at just under 100fps in their Ray Tracing test battery. A few frames below the 7900xtx, and level with the 5070/4070 super. 1440 ultra, it's still around 65 fps. 4k is only like 38. But so is the 5070. Neither of them are 4k RT cards.

This is without DLSS/FSR/XESS.
