a steam deck quality question.
hello there,

i could need some help in clarifying something. yesterday i got my steamdeck (lcd, autumn sale) but there is probably a problem with the left d-pad like analog-stick.

when pushing down (clicking) the left analog stick, there's a very different feeling compared to the right one. on the right one you push down and there's a clear pressure point and you hear the clicking sound, just like expected. but pushing down (clicking) with the left one it feels soft and makes noise even before reaching the pressure point. so there's definitely an obvious difference between those two analog sticks.

similar problem with the left d-pad (compared to the right d-pad): you can clearly feel that the downward push on the left d-pad has way less pressure than any other direction + on the right d-pad the downward push feels solid like all the other directions.

i just want to make sure this isn't intentionally (AKA design choices) before opening reaching out to support.

you might want to also post it on Steam Deck forum

there are more people there who know about Steam Deck or used it
Nah, thats not normal. Open an RMA.

LE Oled 1TB owner, purchased two on Day 1 for that model release, one for me and one for my dad, neither had such an issue. Both sticks should be identical basically, and the left and right d-pads the same.

oh. i searched for steam deck forum. must've been blind. thanks!
there is no right d-pad on the Steam Deck. The d-pad is the 4-way "+" directional pad to the left of the left-side analog joystick. On the right side there isn't a d-pad and in that location are the 4x "A B X Y" face buttons. Are you referring to the touchpads?

he is saying there is a dif between pressing on the left of the d-pad and pressing on the right of the d-pad. Its all the same d-pad.
