Can't go over 4800Mhz with my RAM without System Crashing.
I recently upgraded all my hardware parts:

  • GPU: RX 9070 XT (Driver 25.9.2)
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance Grey DIMM Kit (2 Sticks) 32GB, DDR5-6000, 6000 MHz, CL 30-36-36-76 (Dual Channel)
  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WiFi (Socket AMD AM5)
  • PSU: Corsair RM850X
  • OS: Windows 11

Troubleshooting Solutions I've Tried:

  • Disabled C-States in BIOS and changed the Windows Power Plan to High Performance.
  • Switched EXPO from Profile 2 to Profile 1.
  • Reduced Memory Frequency from 6000 MHz to 5600, then 5400, 5200, and 5000 MHz, but the PC was still crashing.
  • Reset my BIOS settings with F5, saved, and exited without making further changes. (This also resets EXPO to "Auto" and the memory frequency to 4800 MHz.)
  • Updated my BIOS and cleared CMOS.
  • Executed sfc /scannow.
  • The Windows Event Viewer only shows a Kernel-Power 41 Error. (I know this error is very generic.)

The Problem

Strangely enough, my PC only crashes when playing any sort of game. No matter the title, I can play for about 10-15 minutes, and then my PC suddenly shuts down.

However, resetting my BIOS to the default settings and leaving EXPO and the Memory Frequency at "Auto" seems to fix this issue.

are you using 4 dimms?

and note ddr # is not freq in mhz
ddr # = mhz x 2
ddr 6000 = 3000mhz

check with cpuz to see what its actually running at
compare memory tab (what its at) to spd tab (xmp profiles for each dimm)

No 2 Sticks (also just updated my post accordingly)
Use 2 DIMMs only. Like 1 and 3 or 2 and 4
#1 being closest to CPU.

Then enable XMP/DOCP
When you save and exit the bios allow a good 5-10 mins for RAM training to occur. Then it should actually POST properly

I have to use 2 and 4 because my CPU Fan is too big. (Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU Cooler)

I did the last thing already yesterday after reading through Reddit Posts/Comments.
First I would enable.DRAM SPD = AITO.

Boot into OS and download and extract lateat bios update to uab flash drive or root of your OS drive. Then go into BIOS and update that before you make any BIOS changes

Right now while being on the Desktop: https://imgur.com/a/cYi7ZXT

Note: My BIOS is still on Default settings which should've set the RAM Mhz to 4800, as it also shows in Taskmanager.

As in my original Post stated: I already have updated my BIOS and cleared CMOS.
What is your FCLK and MCLK running at when you enable EXPO?

I never touched FCLK and MCLK, all I did was enabling EXPO 2 and setting the Memory Freq. to 6000 Mhz.

can you post a cpuz validation link
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

cl40 is pretty high, did you enable xmp?

Enable of EXPO / XMP / DOCP with the correct profile should in-turn fill out the DRAM Frequency Timings and Voltage for u

You did whether you realized it or not; that is why I'm asking what the FCLK and MCLK is when you enable EXPO.

And I'd concur something is off when your memory configuration for sure from that CPU-Z pic. CL40 is significantly looser than the CL30 the kit is rated for. Were those with EXPO or when you manually set the memory speeds?

I also did this already yesterday when I was going through various of Troubleshooting solutions.

I did not touch either of these settings...

What makes you so sure that I'm lying?

All I was taught by my IT guy to enable EXPO 1 or 2 (whatever is available, 2 preferred) and setting the Memory Freq. to 6000 Mhz.
