Gamers Nexus will add Linux to their Benchmarks.
Interesting and exciting.

I hear about a „year of Linux desktop” for over 20years but it finally actually feels like one.

Bazzite and Arch/CachyOS seem like the right choice.

It was bound to happen with Microsoft killing off Windows 10 needlessly, and Linux simultaneously making good progress throughout the last few years, and with SteamOS general release being somewhere around the corner
Wendell of Level1 is a great guest, been watching his linux videos for years.

I spent years distro-hopping. Arch and Arch-based is where I wound up. I've tried other distros like Nobara, and they're fine, but Arch is where I feel at home. Right now I'm liking EndeavorOS.

Nice!
Over the past handful of months Gamers Nexus has really solidified itself as my favorite tech channel by far.

I always said that they people who would decide Linux's success would be Microsoft, that and the ability to game. Here they are proving me right with Windows 11 and Windows 12.

All my PCs are now on Linux. I was using Windows 10 until just recently. Win 11 was just too trash to use.
The question is not even the performance, the performances are similar, but the support for all the games that Windows does not guarantee, and Windows 11 is the worst trash ever created.
If more people will start using Linux and the adoption will grow, then more prebuilts may come with Linux preinstalled. And that may lead to a snowball effect.

Be nice if Tuxedo computers got a western distributor. They already sell pre-builts with Linux.

Cool that Linux will be included, athough it is times more configurable than Windows and it will be different in all cases so there is no correct choice.

True.
There is also System76 with their own PopOS.
Lenovo and Dell have options with preinstalled Ubuntu and Fedora.
Now we need preinstalled Linux + Steam.

I think the snowball is already rolling :)

Some brands will probably start adopting SteamOS for pre-built gaming systems sometime after the general release is out
This is good news. Extra visibility is always welcome. Especially from a channel like this.

I've been using Mint Cinnamon for awhile now. Gaming on it just fine, using Nvidia no less.

Haven't had any issues beyond standard "Linux can't play KLAC games" which is, in my opinion, not actually an issue.

?

If you prioritize support and compatibility, you have to be on Windows.

There are tons of good distros and Mint is fantastic. But for what GN is trying to accomplish I believe that Bazzite is the best choice. SteamOS will likely be very similar to Bazzite and the distro is even easier to use than Mint.
