Do an OS repair for starters.

Google search:
linux terminal verify drive and os files health
It does fine installing on a different drive from the main one the OS is running on. Why's that? Its a new drive and I updated the firmware after these errors and it still happens.

Some games have to do shader cache compile and that basically requires 99% of the CPU. It's possible this scenario is making the OS drive momentarily become unresponsive

Is /home on the same drive as your root?
Is that what Steam on Endeavour defaults to? Or did you change the directory and /home wasn’t the default one?

You may have no rights to that folder. Hard to tell from the info provided.

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

It doesn't exist on Linux (EndevourOS)

But I think he may be trying to install games where his user account has no permission to. Like /home directly instead of /home/c1rex/steamgames for example.

oops
missed that he was not on windows

can be an unstable oc or something too
but drive permissions could be solved by running steam with admin privileges

The root and home directories are in their own partitions.

There is very little information to work on

I also install in home. If your partition is mounted correctly, steam should default to /home and it should look like this:
