Rust launches 7 Days to Die on Mac instead of Rust
I’m having a very strange issue on Mac. When I try to launch Rust from Steam, instead of Rust starting, 7 Days to Die launches. Not really sure if this was the right section to post about this issue but pls help :<

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

Uninstalled and reinstalled Rust

Verified game files integrity through Steam

Rebuilt Steam library

Reinstalled Steam completely

Checked that Rust.app is correct

Despite all of this, launching Rust from Steam still starts 7 Days to Die.

It seems like the problem is somewhere in Steam’s library/launch settings, but on Mac the support button always takes me to Facepunch, which can’t fix this issue.

Has anyone experienced the same problem, or knows a workaround? Any help would be really appreciated.

7d2d
steam://rungameid/251570

should tell steam to run the correct game

Hi, Thank you for the tip.

tried these on google chrome, but both launched 7d2d.

rust
steam://rungameid/252490
>>>(launched 7d2d but said "connect external taken validation failed")

7d2d
steam://rungameid/251570
>>>(successfully launched 7d2d)

should tell steam to run the correct game
>>> I could only find the way to ask help for each company(facepunch, the fun pimps)
can you pls tell me how to get contact with steam support directly?

I dont even see how this is possible
Steam launches by the actual app id#

To to Steam Settings and go to drive libraries and press the hamburger icon and click repair library. When done go to Properties for 7D2D and RUST and in Local Files click Verify. Once both are done this process click Play on the game and see how that goes now.

the command should run from browser too, since it will tell the os to use steam to open the steam:\\ uri

but either way, steam is borking the command to launch

repairing library may do it
and browse rust game files and see if that is rust or 7d2d
That sure is a weird ass issue.
