open run type in dxdiag press enter
check what dx you using should be dx11. Any problems
GPU? drivers up to date?
Maybe cpu cooler isn't working ok and just a coincidence?
Reboot the pc vs shutdown and see if stuff runs ok then?
where/how do i find that out for dx? Game was working fine prior tho, would it cause it to not launch out of nowhere?
did a restart on my laptop, tried a game and still lagging horribly.
Laptop behave differently when plugged in?
they are game/program specific
run dxdiag to see what dx level is supported by your hardware
if the gpu does not support dx12 it cant run dx12 games, since it does not meet the min reqs for the game
Temp is hard to tell. I open the performance sidebar thing with CTRL + Shift + Y and the temp bounces from 120-150. I have a cooling fan pad under it too.
My laptop is able to run it, since i sunk 40hrs of the game on it already. Played Cyberpunk fine too. Now out of nowhere it just won't play. Game launches, and just laggs horribly, like skip lag with a 3-5sec delay on everything.
How do i run dxdlag tho?
if it ran before it should be able to run
make sure the game is set to run using the dedicated gpu
and make sure its plugged in and fully charged
the laptop could be going ot power save modes and disabling the dedicated gpu and throttling
try asking in the games forums, be sure to tell them you are on a laptop
Type "dxdiag" without the quotes
Press the enter key
Since it ran fine before, now all my games are running horribly laggy... That's why i'm kinda annoyed. Laptop is plugged in and charged too.
DxDiag 10.00.26100.5074
which means what?
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here
did you move the pc?
or someone may have plugged the display into the mobo not the dedicated gpu
Other games i try to play say something along the line of video card drive not compatable. Yet again, worked fine before.
Laptop has not been moved either. I'm the only one that uses the laptop as well.
grab all the drivers from the laptop mfg site for it
windows may have tried to update drivers and bork it for you
Dell since it's a Alienware laptop? I click on driver updates and just sits on 0%.
