Processing Vulkan shaders
I have had my steam deck since launch and I have never had this happen before. But I feel like every time I try to play a game I have to wait about 30 minutes to play. It just takes for ever because of Vulkan shaders. Hope this makes sense and someone can help me. 🙏

Did you accidentally disable the precache of Shaders in Steam? It's there for SteamDeck to reduce that.

Check under Downloads, at Bottom. See if Caching in background and Pre-Caching is enabled or disabled.

Thank you, my settings was fine but it did bring me to clear cache and that has fixed it for me. Thank you 😊

Background processing of Vulkan shaders will mostly prevent that and will only make you wait if it hasn't had the chance to process the vulkan shaders in the background for that title

Where the hell do you have this option? I'm not seeing that anywhere,

Ah, in Desktop Mode. That's a bit of a crucial information, as that setting does not exist in Game Mode.
so for weeks now overwatch has needed to process its vulkan shaders but everytime it jumps to 33% then takes forever getting to 40%, during which the fan goes wild and the battery light flashes red. also, specifying that this setting is in desktop mode is everything bc it is not in gaming mode and that annoys me bc why isnt it there?
in addition, i'd like to add that this setting is in STEAM app in desktop mode, then click steam icon top left in app, go to settings -> downloads -> scroll to bottom and select both shader pre caching settings
