Yeah... that was a pretty dumb question, wasn't it?
I'll get the GPU from the other computer to test it out. Might aswell see if I can return the PSU and get a better one. A splitter cable costs 10 euros that are better spent on upgrading the PSU. Funny, yesterday I almost bought a 20 euros GPU to have around the house for testing if needed.
the pci-e power connectors are 6+2, 3x 12v + 3x gnd and its +2 is +2x gnd
6+2 guarantees the middle pin has +12v, else the 6pin by itself can be 2x 12v + 3x gnd and only good for 75w
they are keyed differently and power pins in opposite rows, they are not compatible
it can get 75w from the mobo pci-e slot, and 150w for a pci-e 6+2 power connector
they add the 2nd 6+2 pic-e power connector because many oem boards do not allow 75w to the mobo pic-e x16 connector
Any decent 500-600 watts ATX PSU would have 2x 6+2 pin connections for GPU.
But I wouldn't bother buying an ATX PSU below 750-850W to ensure your covered not just with power needs but the available cables and such too.
That was my bad. I changed GPU at last minute (due to a nice deal) and didn't do proper research. I'll get another, better and beefier PSU.
The 4+4 pin connection is for the upper area of the Motherboard, referred to as EPS to help provide extra power for the CPU so you can't use those connections for a GPU. They are keyed different on purpose to avoid doing that by mistake
I know the MSI A-BN aren't amazing but they are rated at tier C by some PSU lists, have the connecters I need and are decently priced. I have to say, the PSU market is rather limited and some brands way overpriced over here. Mostly Mars Gaming, NOX, Tacens... Mars and NOX have very good reviews on amazon but the lists don't shine to good on them. Oh, and the MSI is on a pretty nice sale too :D
You should buy a PSU that can actually last you 10 year and last through multiple builds. What if you want to upgrade something and that puts it above 500-550W then what... another PSU? When you could have just purchased a good PSU The first time and have it last through the course of 2 or 3 builds.
Since 2012 or so I've made a point to not waste time or money and PSUs that don't have a 7-10 year warranty and it's been a great bet, for sure. Last time I put a PSU below 750W in a PC was back around 2014-2015. Not counting a few lower power HTPC rigs I did that used smaller Corsair SFX PSUs

And you probably again are jot factoring in approx 100 watts for the rest of the PC.
You newbs factor CPU + GPU and think that's the entire PC... hmmm no
take the CPU TDP and double it.
Add about 50-100W to the GPU TDP
Add 100W for the rest of the PC
My 5060 is uses a lot less power than say a 5700xt of the A750 I got for the second pc.
