Can't remove Dark Rock Elite air cooler
Hi,
I am really stuck here. I installed this air cooler, and I wanted to remove it to check the thermal paste (because my temps are high) but I can't remove it. It has a top cover that attached to the middle fan, and when you installed it you push it down and than it locks. there are 4 small round things that holds it in place but I don't know how to release it without breaking something.

Any one here have some experience with this cooler?

However you installed it, do the opposite to uninstall it. Try running it and getting it warm/hot before you do this. I think if it's cold, it's harder.

When you install it, you push down on the top cover and it locks it. there are 4 little springs that hold it in place, I tried to loose them a little but it didn't help.
I can't lift the cover, and it's the only way to get access to the two screws that attach the cooler to the socket.

Ok I just now had the same issue and found a solution by myself: There is nothing you need to un-screw or take off. You litterally just put your fingers below the fan in the middle of the heatsink and pull up/out. It does not damage anything. Be sure to take off the cables first though they could get damaged.
For whatever it is, OP, do not use "Quiet" mode on this air cooler because "Eco" and "Quiet" mode will spike temperatures on any hardware including PSU, GPU, any PC hardware really.

If you are using "Quiet" mode, that is your issue right there.
