Incredibly low FPS while fullscreen.
im not a tech nerd so i appologize in advance for these ramblings if they end up being completely useless.

ive been trying for quite some time now to figure out how to remedy a sudden drop in frames per second while full screen. for whatever reason games as old and weak like DEFCON or NOITA and even ATOM ZOMBIE SMASHER all run really slow if not crawling at around 15fps. i dont know why that would be considering they are not by any means taxing to run.

ive looked around and made all sorts of small changes which seemingly have little (or more often than not) to no change whatsoever in fixing this.

Updating Drivers does not appear to have made any change whatsoever.

Win10 + non Microsoft Games = Disable Game Mode in the OS and also go to Properties of game clients and Disable Full Screen Optimization for All Users.

i went into game mode settings and turned that off.

i also disabled fullscreen optimizations for DEFCON but it hasn't changed anything.

Is this a Desktop or Laptop?
Share the full specs with ease by running the CPU-Z App from CPUID.com
Once it loads up click Validate > tick the Extreme OC box > click Submit.
Web browser will load up with a unique web address for your list of found specs; share that web address into a post here please.

no ssd?

get one asap and install the os on it
its like taking the brakes off windows
everything runs so much better
instant browser loads, startup/shutdown in under 10sec, games that are installed on it will have much faster load times

ram is also not running at its rated spec
boot to bios, and enable xmp profile for 3000

for the low fps, make sure the display is plugged into the gpu not the mobo

Have you guys messed with the settings in Nvidia control panel? Like in Manage 3d Settings?

Ok I know this was almost 5 years ago but did the ssd fix it💀. I’ve been on and off having the some problems. Some time is only on a certain game and some times it’s all of them. A lot of the time just changing the resolution back and forth can fit it but not this time.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
