MvM Needs Ribbons.
Good players have to show their worth every time they join a server. I'm part of a low percentage of people who can play sniper well on mvm. It's considered not worth having a sniper on mvm by most players, even experienced ones. Spy is in the same boat. I need not say the amount of times teams have chosen to kick me before even seeing me in action. If we have ways of showing that we were good at our specific classes in mvm it would turn the tide. Unless you have a friend on the server you can't even boast of more kills then everyone else.

Class allocation would be easier to decide when ribbons are worn by players. (He's completed 23 tours as demo, perhaps I should let him play demo.) I feel such an update is easily done at little cost to valve and would bring players back to the game.

I don't mean for us to fall into ranks like other fps tend to do but only to add a few achievements and pride to the faces of players who perform well. If I've completed 20 expert tours as sniper, I want my sniper ribbon to say so. Just a thought... I think it would add more achievements to the game and more players to mvm and cut out some of the arguements between players as to why they have a class considered to be worthless. As well as adding a little compitition between friends and players alike to level up their ribbons.

Doesn't that mean that people who are 'carried' by a very good team would also have ribbons of x tours and it would become meaningless in a short amount of time ?

no because they would have to prove their worth by racking up kills with that partucular class. and you cant carry kills thats all up to the player

Points would be a factor for every class except scout who would get ribbons based off the money rating. For example if the scout averages an A or A+ he would receive a ribbon upon completion of the map. The rest would have to focus on kills and damage done to giants and tanks. It might get a bit complicated but the less we know about how it works the less likely players are to exploit it. I think once a system exists it would bring another level of enjoyement to mvm. I doubt they will ever bother with something like this but I like the idea myself enough to write about it. So you wouldn't automatically get a ribbon every time you complete a map. If your class got carried through the map you wouldn't get one.

second idea: There could be a personal setting where you agree before joining a server that your class will be picked by the other players (and showing your score as they mouse over the potential choice).

Perhaps you have a clearer picture of your idea then I do DarkCrystalMethod. I've thought over it and though in some cases it is important for a player to understand their worth and what the team is needing as well as hoping from them, I can't imagine a player wishing to be forced into a class selection before joining a map. Like I said you might have figured out the particulars but I have no clear idea. Interesting thought all the same, Dark thanks for the comment. :)
U are better off playing with people you know, every once in a while you find a good player on a scrub team
