Of course for accountability it should show who contributed or spent on what and when.
Then 1 month later they do a charge back.
I am a little confused on this. are you talking about dual/multi ownership, or just gifting the money? one of those is reasonable the other impossible.
It would be like, someone give a link to other people and they could give some money to his/her account to buy a specific (or not) game, like a chip in.
And if a users' account gets hijacked, then the hijackers use a 'pool' account to pool different stolen accounts to buy games, which they then distribute. A no chargeback policy there would effectively give hijackers a rock solid way to launder stolen money.
Note that this is different than steam's 'no refund' policy. When a chargeback is issued usually the offending account is suspended and games are revoked that were purchased.
The idea, as presented, would allow multiple users to transfer money into a pool by which a game would be purchased.
My point is that a single chargeback really throws that entire process into chaos. Or worse allows scammers to effectively use stolen accounts and credit cards with no repercussions at all
Look not saying the idea isn't cool. I mean lots people want to 'pool' in to buy say a 4 pack of games for a bit cheaper. I get the idea. The problem comes when unscrupulous people abuse that system for their own benefit.
That would only prevent someone from getting a refund from steam. They could still get a refund from the card company who would then take their money back from steam. Steam would be required to comply by law, and would then take back the game from the users account. Over a single penny and the acusation of fraud.
This function should be just for friends of the guy that is asking the money, or just the people who are from the same country of him.
