It's gonna be pretty tough for Mr Newell to compartmentalize all of our countries different laws and needs.

Even compartmentalized by states here in this country.

It makes practical sense, to give countries their own Clients, rather than trying to confuse the issues.

We have our Secretary of State wanting to hold foreign nationals accountable for moderating we Americans. Well, many of our Game Hubs, from foreign countries are doing just that.

Maybe Valve itself rumored to have foreign moderators.

We have Roblox being sued. We have the State of California now implementing their own ID system.

Pay processors have now got involved.

There's too many balls in the air for Valve to juggle.

An American Client does not only make practical sense, it may happen.

The only reason China got a different Steam was because Valve was required to by law to do business there.

If not it would be the same client everyone else uses.

Yes and now here we are demanding our own client. This place is simply overrun with anti-Americans. We should have to listen to this garbage. It's not good for the soul.

The people of China didn't demand it, their government did.

Their government wanted complete control over all games that were added to the store.

China's government demanded their own client.... not the end users like you.

If it was just the end users Valve wouldn't have done ♥♥♥♥.

The Chinese GOVERNMENT demanded a private client so they can control what the Chinese population has access to.

Random users demanding a private regional client is not the same.

But you aren't 'the people', you are only one person. If you seriously want to have Steam make a client for the US cut off from the rest of the world, make a petition to your goverment.

No, the people select who is in the government.

You are not the government and you are not the representative of the American people to the American government.

You are not the spokesperson for all Steam users.

And guess what?
It would cost way too much money and require a ton of time to develop a client for every country.
And would require hiring staff from each of those countries to run each client and ensure it follows the laws of that country.

You can also say goodbye to most of the games available as most likely only games from said country would be allowed on that client.
Many countries could lose the ability to purchase 99% of games Steam sells.

So, no, they will not do separate clients for each country, especially when it's a VERY small section of users demanding for it.

As said already, China has their own Client because the Chinese GOVERNMENT demanded to have their own if Steam was to operate in China. This is due to the CCP wanting full control over what the citizens can have access to.
The foreign games available in China are heavily censored or altered from the global version most of the time to adhere to the CCPs guidelines on what is allowed.

So it's okay to be Anti-<Insert nation here> and they don't get to have their own clients, but when people speak ill about America, it's suddenly a massive problem and America needs its own client?

Not how the world works, buddy.
