Politics used to be forbidden on Steam. It was a wondrous time to be alive, and there was half as much trolling.
I second this
No. “Politics AND Religion.” I’d prefer if both topics were simply banned from being discussed again, but short of that, it’d be nice if they were contained to their own dedicated subforum.

it used to be an unwritten rule in social circles: never talk about religion or politics. This matters more today than ever. There's way too much hate and vitriol. And besides, this is a gaming platform. There are other choices if you feel the need to get something off your chest. Peace. Go play some great games.

It was a great rule but unfortunately it’s no longer practical since the rise of game dev activism and the insistence of shoehorning vile political views into games. Did you know the company that did the Tony Hawk remake has 1 page on their website dedicated to upcoming releases and 12 pages dedicated to explaining who the devs sleep with and what their “gender identities” are?

Just looked up Iron Galaxy's website. There are no pages explaining who the devs sleep with and what their gender identities are. And in fact, there's one. Count em one page about DEI Advocacy not activism.

And Vicarious Visions is Blizzard Albany so...

By the way, the anti-woke are political activists, they just don't want to admit to it.

You mean new forum: discrimination, doxing, and threats? Because that's what OT is becoming now.

Definitely. Might even pop in and observe all the sweat in it's natural habitat.

You linked the "about" section of their website, if you back out and look at the "games" section you can see it is only 1 page and then if you back out again and look at "DEIA" section you can see it is many, many pages of nonsense revolving around far-left activism and the developers sexual preferences. it also includes sections to many politcal causes such as, "Learning Acceptance Through The Lens", "#MeetIronGalaxy - LGBTQ+ Edition", "Women In Games International", "Iron Galaxy Chicago Pride 2024", "Celebrating Juneteenth: Past, Present, and Future" and it goes on and on like this, it seems Iron Galaxy is more involved in political activism than it is developing games....

By the way, I'm all for activism. Just not when it promotes human misery.

It was one page. With articles.

And yes, I did link the about page. There's this thing in the corner that allows people to choose which section of the site they want to go to. Allowing people to see for themselves.

About Section: 1 Page
Games Section: 1 Page
Careers Section: 1 Page
DEIA Section: 1 Page, with a bunch of articles
News: 1 Page, with a bunch of articles, specifically 28 "pages" of articles"
Contact Section: 1 Page.

By the way, just because something makes you doesn't mean that it makes everyone else miserable. I can't stand 90 degree weather, especially with high humidity. I talk to a Floridian? To them that's an average tuesday. Meanwhile they'd be miserable in 20 degree weather, and I'll walk out in a T-shirt in that.

So, promoting the inclusion of others, rather than the exclusion of them, is promoting "human misery"?

How do you come by that logic?

We're all human beings, mate. And we all have a place.

If this company wishes to openly support all these things, that is their right. Just as it's your right to buy or not buy anything they make.

It's the simplest of concepts, yet apparently a bunch of people need to be loud asshats about it, everywhere.

I can agree with that. As long one takes the gender ideology spam with them. I couldn't care less. It would be about time to clean up the mess in OT forum. Great idea..:steammocking:

I have no problems with the removal of politics either, so long as one takes the "age of consent should be younger than 16" opinions with them. Society is no place for that, whatsoever.
Ye I'm in favor of that ok banning them altogether again is better, but with a new forum at least we can avoid it. The big problem now is often even if it isn't about politics someone turns the discussion into one.
