Reward Gamers with Wishlist Games Through Challenges or Holiday Events
Hello Steam Team,

I wanted to share an idea that could make Steam even more engaging and rewarding for players. Many gamers have long wishlists but can’t always afford the games they want. It would be amazing if Steam or game publishers could offer a special event system where players can earn points or complete simple daily or seasonal challenges to unlock one free game from their wishlist — especially during events like Christmas, Black Friday, or other holidays.

This kind of feature could:

Make Steam more interactive and community-driven,

Reward loyal users for their activity,

Help players discover and engage with more games,

And spread goodwill during festive seasons.

It doesn’t have to be constant — even a yearly or seasonal event would mean a lot to many players. It’s a small way to bring joy and engagement to the platform while supporting both gamers and developers.

Thank you for considering this idea!

Best regards: Amin Gil_0280

We had events and all that before, but people abused it, cheated, just to get more and more stuff.

Don't think Valve will ever do this again.
You can give more ideas.

Tha plus with how Syeam has grown.

Anyway, OP, people wanting free stuff is noting new. Don't expect it. Steam certainly does not need it of engagement.
Happen before, people complain, people want free stuff nothing new really.

More likely going get something they can give away which is valve game which is a big IF, what likely be possible is them giving out profile badge, with stickers emotes, or whatever.

guess you should start to save up and wait for sales. Your tin cup rattling won't get you the games you desire.

It's quite funny how people try to dress up "I want free stuff" as "benificial to devs, gamers and Valve".
In three years time Valve will give me a picture of a gold watch as reward for 25 years loyalty...
