There should be NO private profiles
Too many bots attempting to shape discussions with private profiles. Private profiles aren't all bots but many of them likely are. They're agenda driven and cause chaos rather than facilitating actual discussion.

People deserve privacy, no matter how much scammers or trolls will utilise them.

You have the option of blocking these people and not engaging with anyone that has a privated profile.

The profile doesn't need to be fully public but some aspects should be and that's the suggestion. You'd still be able to block and not engage with people.

What aspect(s) would you suggest remain public?

That's up to the team

The specifics aren't my suggestion though
The "team" can see everything about your profile

Then they should be able to decide what "we" need to know.

Looks like they've already decided on just the name and avatar.

Good point. That's why this is a suggestion in a suggestion thread.

Applied inside but not outside. The suggestion is letting people see more than just a 0, account name, and a profile picture to make a better determination as to how to interact.
just tell us what you want , not what you think the valve staff decide to do.

I want to know the people who are communicating are real people. I don't mind AI but they aren't yet sentient so until they are, can we just have human discussions without robots telling us what to think and like because some business paid someone else to program them to do so on a mass scale?
