Using the default browser instead of the browser in the client
I would like to be able to choose which browser to open pages in the steam client in. It is not always convenient that all the news and other moments are opened in the browser built into the client. For example, sometimes I need to use a translator to understand what is being said. And it's more convenient to use the browser you're already used to.

You can do that since... the very beginning, I think. The only part of the client that is not available in a standalone browser is the library (it kinda is, too). I, for example, only use the steam client in mini-mode, and I never go outside of the library because I hate CEF will all of my being. Though, the website is currently broken...

As you should, and given Valve's apparent skill in implementing it, I am sure many of their employees hate it as much as you.
It be nice steam offer auto translator, but if you want to use another browsers, what stopping you from opening your "default browser" and going to steam website, using the translator???

The future is now, old man JK, but no I'm not big fan either, but that just how the market going.
To be honest, I don't get the move to CEF whatsoever. I mean, it's nice to have CSS and not have to write an actual GUI, but man... installing the same browser, having the same redundant files for each one, instead of just doing everything via the user's browser of choice is stupid. It would take just a few willing companies to convince mozilla and google to allow local file access (which... I guess would be great and terrible at the same time, depending on WHO's exploit that feature). They do it on phones, since pretty much all apps on android and ios use the default browser. Then again... some awful devs even put CEF inside games just so they don't have to code GUI's.
