Forum language selector
It would be nice to have Steam or forum posters specify what language they are posting in, as some kind of metadata that could then be filtered.

Where most forums are in English (which is, more or less, used globally) with the occasional thread in another language there are some games where this is not the case. If English is not the official "go-to" language it makes it almost impossible to navigate such forums for most of the world in such cases.

Case in point: Escape From Duckov seems to have a very large audience in China, and as such those forums are full of threads in Chinese. It would be nice if I could actually filter these threads out to see only the threads I can understand and take part in.

PS. Please don't misunderstand - I don't wish to punish people posting in other languages. If anything I'd like this to be something like the reviews where I people can pick the languages they're proficent with and can then see threads only in those languages.

Not so simple as you might think sometimes a post is dual language sometimes the title is in English yet the post itself for instance in Russian. So, it has to be a fairly complex algorithm to filter.

The OP isn't suggesting an algorithm that figures out what the language a thread is in. The suggestion is for thread creators to self-tag their own threads with a specific language and then to be able to filter based on that. The feature already exists on Steam in a way as when you create a guide or a review you manually choose what language you have written in. And of course, naturally you will not see reviews or guides in languages you have not checked in your preferences.

Generally this could be achieved in two steps.

Step one: manual tagging, possibly based on the language Steam is working in or a predefinded user-picked default from the settings.

Step two (at a later date): automatic detection, if at all sensible (assuming first option doesn't fully cut it).
