add option to skip proton validation when verifying game data on steam
it takes forever every time
and it does it regardless of having already done it just moments before TO EVERY SINGLE GAME

making what should be a 1 minute scan take 5-10 minutes or more

its a waste of both steams bandwidth and my time. and seems pointless since proton is listed in our library anyway, thus scan-able on its own if needed

this also applies to the 3 linux runtime apps as even now its scan time for THAT keeps bouncing between 3 minutes to an hour
It sounds more like you want an option to verify multiple games at once, but I'm curious as to what situation you're in where you think multiple games have missing or corrupt files simultaneously.

i just finished moving my entire (installed) library to new or newly formated hard drives after moving to linux and my current physical limit for download speed is 2 MB/s

the issue is that now that im on linux steam has decided it needs to validate proton and steam linux run time for ANY game that gets validated

that is 2 gigs of validation each time... and whats worse is they take FAR longer to validate than even a 20 gb game does for some reason

and its a pointless process as they are perfectly capable of being validated on their own if the need arises
