Get Rid of Account Names and Make Them Email Only
Make account names email only instead of random letters or numbers that we choose. As there is no point in them, as we can't show them off, email only would be easier to remember and to sign in. Since if we forget the account name, it asks for email anyways. So if you fix this, then all we need to do is enter email and request a password change. 1 million x easier.

Valve doesn't need to change their system because you're determined to mismanage your accounts.

In short, use a proper password manager, then you won't need to make lame arguments about how systems need to revolve around your crummy memory.

Also very early on Steam used email accounts, and Valve changed it to user names. If they want to change it back, they will. If they don't they won't. And so far your position doesn't seem to contain anything to make a change reasonable.

Also I've seen way more people complaining about lost or defunct email addresses than I see users complaining about the difficulty of remembering user names. Just maybe your idea isn't as fully formed as you think. And it is 1 million x easier to just lob out half baked nonsense.

And let's not forget we've gone over twenty years with user names, and hundreds of millions of users. Somehow we've survived, and most of us can still access our accounts. Any theories?

A lot of people forever stuck with a no-longer-existing or accesible email account as their Steam username would have a word with you.

Your login username is only for you to know, no one else. This is a security feature. If it was your email address, well that makes it even easier to hijack your account..
My account name is an email address and Id be really pissed off if that email address gets revealed to randos.

I get more than enough bs in my inbox as it is.

Bonus point: If your Steam username is an email, the moment someone has your Steam username also has your email. Two compromised datapoints in one go.

Well, fortunately I changed the actual email address when that became possible, but I still have possession of that old, original email.

I dont want either of them out in the open. Certainly not for this goofy convenience "idea".

Hell no, once an email address is part of an online breach its forever out there. Much rather have a unique account name that no-one but me and Steam knows
