Steam Workshop Contributor Permissions
It would be nice if us Owners of Workshop Items could set Permissions for Contributors to do things like:

  • Edit title & description
  • Add/edit images & videos
  • Add/remove contributors
  • Publish in-game (not sure if this is handled by Valve or the specific game's developer)

That way, mod teams could work together or in others' steads on Workshop Items.

This is such a great idea, that I had honestly assumed it was already implemented. It wasnt until I added my friend as a contributor that we realized he wasnt able to edit anything for me. Valve, please take note of this and make it happen!

Having started repackaging mods for an author (with permission), we've run in to this issue as well. I wholeheartedly back this suggestion.

Thanks for the support, guys! This has only become more and more of an issue since I posted this. Let's hope Valve supports the idea, too!

This needs to be a thing. It's annoying for a team that only one is able to edit the workshop page or publish files. And what if that member move away from the team? I don't think he can transfer ownership.

+1 for this being a thing. I'm a contributor on a project and image uploads are failing for the owner for some reason, would like to be able to try putting them up myself.

I'm supporting this. So many mods are abandoned or must be reuploaded because the original creator is no longer active.

If a permission system is too complicated, a simple "Transfer Ownership" button would also work!

This would solve so many problems and make your customers happier because broken mods can quickly be updated when a new game version is released.

+1 from boformer - A kind of popular Cities: Skylines modder

I'd love to see this too. There's so many users that are incapable of reading other comments or threads saying the workshop item is incompatible with x version of the game. At the moment you've got to upload a new version of the workshop item then hope that people move over to that version.

As a user it's also a huge pain. You've got to sort through a huge list of workshop items you have and see which ones are incompatible, then find the compatible ones and subscribe to those. If we had some way of letting other contributors have the ability to update workshop items this could be resolved completely, where contributors can keep existing items up to date if the creator leaves and users can have an always up to date version of their subscribed workshop item.

Lazy Valve...

Well, they are keeping it all running. Would you call that lazy? What I miss is an official statement on this.

Any news on allowing a contributor to do updates?

Im in a similar situation. It would be great if ownership could be transferred, or at least if a contributor could update the mod...

I can't believe allowing multiple contributors to update a mod is not implemented yet. I'm In a similar boat... The only way around it is to upload everything again and make people re download it which really sucks!
