GoG is probably not immune to this either.
I have a credit card and don’t live in the UK, but this “age verification” thing is ridiculous, IMHO. All because parents can’t be bothered to do their job.
You need to add a credit card if you want access to purchase adult games, in other words porn games. GTAV is not affected by this new age restriction policy currently.
Either way I don't dare buy any more games incase they suddenly are effected. It's not going to stay at just porn games. As for GoG you can obviously save the files, they can't retroactively take them from you like Steam can.
Apparently it's only GTA online that will be introducing it. I haven't done much research cos I only just now found out about needing a credit card to age verify. Should be shown on login page or something imo. This is peoples cold hard cash we are talking about but Valve haven't cared for a long time I suspect. I wont be spending anymore I've got enough old games to play.
Thats just a rumour that they are thinking of adding it. There has been no official confirmation from Rockstar regarding it.
Stop listening to youtube clickbait, they're usually wrong on the subject because they want views, nothing more.
Valve are still working on that, but the CC requirement was a quick and easy solution to the current problem. Even the numbers show that over 60% of people in the UK use CCs, so from a numbers point of view, it was a safe bet.
All you can hope for is that Valve allows for more means of age verification soon.
Until then, there are no issues with you playing games you already own.
