I would like to pitch a quick suggestion to the Steam Team. Objectively speaking, the Steam Community would greatly benefit from having the Award function disabled for comments and topics, so anything but screenshots, artwork, reviews, guides, workshop items, profiles, etc..

Admittedly, this won't get rid of the issue of bots, scammers, point farmers and spammers, but at the very least the comment sections will be somewhat sanitized from this plague. This is in light of recent events which targeted the game "Hollow Knight: Silksong". A user in the discussion page posted a topic where he asked for rewards in exchange of a bigger chance to win a key of the game. He was helped by accomplices who were in it for the award farming. Then, there are the people who snipe the News sections and post ragebait comments in order to bait users into giving them Jester awards and derail the thread in the process.

I sincerely hope the team takes all of this into account. I found Steam Community to be way better than the likes of Reddit, both regarding information and discussion. Now though, I'm not so sure anymore, due to the rampant off-topic, which is more often than not fueled by those points.
