I'm not against the idea. But looking at things it doesn't seem like Valve is all that interested in tons of social media integration at every step.
Also, maybe I'm just old, but I don't think copying and pasting a link is really so much work. It does make your arguments read a bit silly. Plus, your argument kinda makes it sound like Valve is very invested (or should be) in sharing links.
At any rate Valve knows social media exists, if they wanted to make all sorts of stuff shareable like that they would. Furthermore developers could add their own links to store pages if they thought sharing links to their store pages was some benefit.
Like I said, I'm not against it. But it feels pretty trivial either way. And sometimes the lack of a feature that's not some obscure thing might mean they've declined to go that way, rather than not thought of it.
As for the client, only left clicking the address bar copies the link for ease of sharing the link.
