I'm not against the idea. But looking at things it doesn't seem like Valve is all that interested in tons of social media integration at every step.
Also, maybe I'm just old, but I don't think copying and pasting a link is really so much work. It does make your arguments read a bit silly. Plus, your argument kinda makes it sound like Valve is very invested (or should be) in sharing links.
At any rate Valve knows social media exists, if they wanted to make all sorts of stuff shareable like that they would. Furthermore developers could add their own links to store pages if they thought sharing links to their store pages was some benefit.
Like I said, I'm not against it. But it feels pretty trivial either way. And sometimes the lack of a feature that's not some obscure thing might mean they've declined to go that way, rather than not thought of it.
As for the client, only left clicking the address bar copies the link for ease of sharing the link.
This would go towards the feature that lets you see what games you and your friend own so your friend own. My current thought was "I wish it was easier to share this with my friend group to ask should we take a look at buying up a pack of these for our Co-Op group."
Sure I can find the link, open/find the main windows (I'm browsing in the tab window), or open friends from the icon, find my friend/group, past it, type a message. However some integration to do all that would be helpful in getting me to spend more money, more quickly.
