Recent Change in Steam Client Behavior – Forced Logout Between PCs
Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed something new (and pretty annoying) with the Steam client recently.

Whenever I’m at the office and want to log into Steam to play a game, the client forces me to disconnect my login from my home PC. This not only logs me out there, but it also actually wakes up my home machine from sleep, disconnects Steam, and kicks me out.

The issue is that when I return home later, I have to log back in again manually. It used to be possible to stay signed in on multiple devices (as long as I wasn’t actively running a game at the same time), but now it seems like Steam is enforcing a single active session across all PCs.

I don’t really like this behavior, because I want my home PC to stay signed in while I occasionally log in from the office. Having to re-enter credentials every time is inconvenient.

Does anyone know why this change happened? Is it a new Steam policy for account security, or just a bug/side effect of a recent update?
