Suggestion for Red Dead Redemption 2
Dear Steam team,

I would like to suggest the idea of offering Red Dead Redemption 2 as a free weekend event or a limited-time giveaway. Such an initiative could bring multiple benefits:

Community Growth: Many players who are curious about the game but hesitant due to price would finally have the chance to experience it. This could significantly expand the RDR2 community.

Increased Engagement with Red Dead Online: A free period would likely attract new players into Red Dead Online, increasing its player base and long-term revenue opportunities.

Steam Ecosystem Benefits: Special promotions like this often attract new users to the platform, boosting overall activity and sales.

Positive Publicity: Offering a beloved title for free, even temporarily, creates tremendous goodwill and positive media coverage.

I believe such a campaign would be mutually beneficial for both Rockstar and Steam, and most importantly, for the players.

Valve cannot just offer games for a free weekend, you need to contact Rockstar with this suggestion, as it will be up to them

Valve can't give it away for free, the developer/publisher decides that. The best you can hope for is to wait for the winter sale where it will very likely be on offer although I would point out that RDR2 was just on offer to coincide with the release of the RDR remaster release
