Stop using manipulative pricing
I know it's not a big difference, but using 0'99 instead of 1 is a old and bad habit, we should stop and be kinder and more honest to people

Money is time and effort, energy and emotion, possiblities, we should not steal it with manipulation, let's just stop being this way

Oookay... Tell the game devs to stop using "manipulative" pricing yourself?

Just stop buying games if you don't like the way they are priced

Your posting in the wrong forum, for games, please post your question or requests in the games own forum.

This is a STEAM ONLY related sub-forum, to discuss Ideas and suggestions for valve to make to the steam User Interface on the App, client and website and The online steam services.

This forum is not for any game related suggestions or ideas or questions.
You're fighting decades of marketing there.
And not unique to video games.
Have you just started buying stuff for yourself? Asking because ending stuff in XX.99 has been a thing since forever. It's just clever marketing and it's not exclusive to Steam. You will see XX.99 pricing everywhere in life (food, tickets, clothes, subscriptions, etc).
in the UK the .99 pricing is due to tax

it has nothing to do with tax
If I buy 100 games at 0.99 pence, that equals 99 quid. If we round it up to 1.00 then those same games cost 100 quid. Surely that ten quid saved is time and money saved. Now imagine it over a life time how much more time and money you would have wasted if you had round the 0.99 up to 1.00... I bet shopping with you is a blast.

It's a marketing ploy to make you feel like you're getting a better deal than you really are. It also was used to force cashiers to open the cash till and register a sale by giving change. So, nothing to do with tax.

The left-digit effect isn't going anywhere. You might as well suggest the tide stop coming in.
You're talking about something that started spreading in the 1920s.

:nkCool:
Let every single developer know then. Because they are the ones setting up the prices. Not Valve.
Asking the merchant to please stop doing merchant things is a bit optimistic especially considering the whole country does this.

And not just in gaming. the '9' trick has been around since 1920's...

Thing is. It only works if the target isn't actually paying attention to the price.

IT'll go when people stop falling for it. One thing that is an easy counter is to always round prices up to the nearest $1, $5, $10

just by more stuff so you total has nothing to do with the rounded number you wanted to spend.

also wait till its on sale then the penny won't matter much.
