Suggestion: Implement an Automatic Translation System for the Steam Store, Forums, and Reviews
I would like to propose the integration of an automatic translation system directly within the Steam client. This feature would be extremely beneficial for translating the store, forums, and reviews, thereby improving accessibility for users who are not proficient in English.

Currently, players constantly have to copy and paste text into external tools like Google Translate, which is a tedious process that interrupts the user experience. A built-in, one-click translation feature would make the platform much more open and user-friendly for the international community.

This would allow everyone to fully understand game descriptions, participate in forum discussions, and read reviews without language barriers. Improving access to information strengthens the community as a whole.

Due to the cost, it will not happen.
Just select your language when you install steam...

If you just skip doing default to English then do this.
Steam settings > Interface > Steam client language drop box.

These are the types of UI updates for accessibility that Valve should be investing into. Theres no downside to this other than the labour and time cost to make it happen, but that shouldn't be a barrier to it happening. I don't know why people are so adverse to your suggestion? Actually I do know, its because its the same pathetic people who hang out on the discussions pages all day just to spread their miserable mental state onto as many people as possible.

Thank you. It's okay, he probably meant well and may have misunderstood my request.

This issue comes up all the time and it’s one that seriously upsets the forum sycophants who view steam having to spend any type of money to improve their customers experience as a major no-no.

Fortunately for the rest of us it’s just common sense that a business will quite often spend money to improve the customer experience as it results in more sales so it’s only a matter of time until this suggestion is implemented.
Translate for consumers is free. Translate for business is expensive.

Ah ok had to make sure so we're on the right page.

Yeah don't think Steam going use make their own, and not sure if they even care of doing such things, but if they do they most likely going be using google translator, which at that point can already do right now using steam via browser when viewing store pages, community forum, or etc... It would be nice if they added built in auto translator.

Go pound sand if can't handle open constructive criticism, no reason to drag your pity fights into others discussions that has nothing to do with this.

Chrome and Firefox have inbuild translation tools you can use to translate (almost) any page you're viewing on the internet. Why not use those? I use them all the time to translate pages on Steam. :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

There's a transactional difference between Steam offering a translation button redirecting to Google Translate and you copying said content manually to Google Translate. The difference is 20 USD per million words it would cost Valve to provide this function.

If 1% of the concurrent users (400k users of 40M) would translate the above paragraph (39 "words"), it would cost Valve 312 USD. If they cache the result and the hitrate is 97%, it would still cost Valve 9.36 USD. Just for these 39 words alone.
