Notifications should go to the oldest new message, not the newest new message
Currently, when you click on a notification, it'll take you to the newest new message in the thread the notification was for. However, this means you'll miss out on any other new messages that have been posted in the thread since your last visit. This means you'll potentially lose context on the discussion, or miss out on stuff you wanted to see. You also have to manually scroll back through the thread history, and hope you remember where you actually left off...

So yea. Clicking on a notification should take you to the oldest message that's new since your last visit to the thread. In other words, it should take you to the first message that's new since your last visit. This way, you can resume reading the thread where you left off at. Considering this is how it works for every other forum in existence, it's beyond strange that Stema doesn't do it this standardized way...

Its been broken like this since about 2023.

There are really only three main situations:
1. They have no idea its broken(even after being told what we think in the beta forum).
2. They don't know what to fix(even though they have version control and can find out exactly what broke it)
3. The did it on purpose, yet somehow this gets them more money.

But their silence on the issue(like other important issues over the years) is more problematic than the problem.
