Add “Confirm Safe Trade” Option to Skip 7-Day Hold
I’d like to suggest an improvement to the new 7-day “Safe Trade” system.

Currently, when users trade items, there’s a mandatory 7-day hold period. I understand it’s meant to protect against scams or hijacked accounts, but sometimes both users are trusted friends or verified traders, and waiting 7 days makes trading less convenient.

My idea is to add an optional “Confirm Safe Trade” button.
Both sides would need to confirm that they trust each other and understand the risks. Once both confirmations are submitted, the trade could proceed instantly, like before.

This would keep the system secure while also giving experienced users more flexibility.

Thank you for your time and for keeping Steam safe and user-friendly!

So if the hijacker has control of both accounts, they can confirm safe trade, to transfer your items while laughing there %^& off...

NEXT.......
Stop using third party trade sites and NEVER share your Steam login with anyone or any site.

Keep your login credentials to yourself and you won't have to worry about being highjacked.
It is a good thing that Steam institutes measures like this and does not simply treat security as solely the user's problem.

I am not sure how this is supposed to help. The trade lock is set to prevent a hijacked account from losing high value items to an enemy actor. The enemy actor controls the enemy account, he will always vote yes from the enemy account. If the enemy actor has your account and institutes the trade, he will always vote yes from your account too.

Trusted friends are always trusted until they are not. Had this not been in place you would instead be here wanting it when a "trusted friend" scams you. Any account can be hijacked if someone is careless so that trusted friend could have their account hijacked and that idea is now out the window.

What you can do is also what a hijacker can do once they have full control over your account.

A cooldown skip is never going to happen because it will undermine the reason WHY the cooldown was in effect in the first place.
