Security Key Additional Security Option Request
I would like to see Steam implement the physical Security Key to our account security, as an extra layer protection to keeping our accounts secured.

Because other places like EA Client, Discord and other clients now supports it. And it would help to reassure Steam users to add an extra layer 2FA security to protect and to keep their account secured.

No amount of extra locks will help when users continuously give away all the keys to their accounts.

Not that I don't support another security option, just don't try to play it as something that will actually help the vast majority of idiots users who get their accounts hijacked on a daily basis.

It does stop cyber-criminals from stealing and compromising accounts though. Like how emails accounts have got as an option besides the main 2FA standard security features.
Isn't EA's 'security key' just 2FA, or I'm missing something?

It's a physical key, like a Yubikey USB stick. That you connect to your device that you are using. To act as another way of authorising your account login method.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against another option for security. However it simply won't stop the majority of these folks from getting hijacked as they'll just get a RAT or something else that they're fooled into installing.

Again though, not against a physical key.

That still won't stop users from giving away their account.
Bad actors know what they need to do to trick users.
More security won't help.
The existing security works, it is the USERS who are the weak link.
