Community bans for simply mentioning sensitive terms
I would list all of them here, but you get the idea at this point. Whenever someone tries to ask if a game has a controversial aspect, instant ban. no questions asked.

Would be nice but probably too big of an ask for the lax outsourced moderation.

Of course, the sad truth. Nothing will change. Nothing.

That’s why it’s best not to use game forums, steam is happy to let devs ban for whatever reason they like and eventually it will contribute to a community wide ban. The only safe place to post is here as it’s a steam forum with an objective rule set and doesn’t depend on a developers feelings.

Devs are free to moderate their hubs how they see fit, a huge majority got tired of culture war spam/award bait so they just ban it now.

This. I've seen a lot of developers complaining about this kind of stuff in replies to the troublemaker, and it would have been less effort for them to have just banned the troublemaker.

Developers and developer-appointed mods don't need a report to see a thread and decide to moderate it. (Although they can still respond to reports just like global mods.)

That doesn't really hold water since the game forums that are full of culture war nonsense are usually for games where the developers decided to incorporate culture war nonsense into their product, if they were sick of it then they wouldn't be actively promoting it. Go to a forum for a game made by normal people who don't use their games as a platform for left-wing activism and it's very rare to see any mention of politics.
I've never had this happen to me before because I keep my mouth shut. This being said I don't like staying silent. I feel some developers abuse the system and they get away with it.
Having seen how many gaming communities are these days political logos with the game icon in the background, I have no reason to believe this sort of policy is going to evenly applied

Their forum, their rules. They are not required to put up with "is it woke" etc especially when people are not there to ask a question but only to stir the pot for no valid reason.

Those selfsame people will not allow stirring the pot on their own front doorstep and will shut the door because it is their door and their rules.

Most of the hub bans are done by hub moderators and developers themselves though. Steam moderators only help with report queue when they have time.

I know of no examples.

Link or screenshot for such a thread please.

You've only proven the point that the culture war sees shadows everywhere. A creative can make whatever a creative wants. This is creative freedom and creative liberty.

Don't like it, don't engage with it. But people do not have the right to brigade or harass creatives.

(editted)
Dictators believe in freedom once and only if you agree with them.
Where critics are paid promoters,

In electronics negative feedback is necessary for the circuit to operate correctly.
In society negative feedback is necessary for country to operate correctly, else if it is a religious dictatorship.

The good news is since a huge majority are already doing it, it is no longer a problem and OPs suggestion is not necessary and people can stop griping about seeing threads they disagree with.

But we're talking controversial aspects or "controversial aspects"?
